Ventilation help

My plan ....

Flower room is 8x16x12
10 600w hid cool tubes.
2 6inch 500cfm fans with filters

Veg room is 8x8x12
2 600w hid cool tubes
1 6 inch 500cfm fan with filter

Questions
Is that enough ventilation for the rooms?
Was planning on 2 filters in the flower room, how big should they be?

Hey !
My setup was very similar.
6kw in 600w (without cooltubes)
But i'm using a 12-15 inch exhaust fan connected to a single carbon filter. I run passive intake too and it was fine.
My room was 12x18x 7.5ft high. It was almost impossible to keep temps down because i didnt have AC and no cooltubes.

The location will be a structure outside, with just plywood. I plan on running my lights at night, so between the cool tubes and running lights at night I'm hoping my temps will be low enough to not have to run a ac.

But I can always install an ac if needed.

I also plan on running 1 6 in fan per 5 lights, I could always bump it up to 2 8 inch fans at 900cfm each

I'm just trying to save money where possible but still have a good running set up

My plan is to connect all the lights together with ducting, install 2 inline filters in the middle of the grow and have both fans hooked up the the system exhausting air out.

So it would be 10 cool tubes, 2 filters and 2 6 inch fans pulling air out

dude I would go 10 inch in and out...minimum! I have a 10×10×7 and I'm running 2 8inch...for lights I have 1 1000w and a 600w....I think you're underdoing the ventilation .... cool tubes still throw heat!

it is not nearly enough. Personally I would only run 3 tubes per fan and that is with independent air supply, what you're trying to do is use hot humid grow room air to cool 5 600w hps bulbs, add to that the fact you're pulling that air through a carbon filter and you have a recipe for disaster. You'd be better off running bare bulbs because you aren't removing enough radiant heat from the bulbs to make tubes worth while. Please stop now!

I can see what's happened here, you've decided to have 2 lines of 5 lights, all in 6" cool tubes so you've thought a 6" fan would be ideal, it is not. Imho it is totally pointelss to use a air cooled lighting run as ur exhaust run, you can't control the environment this way. You either need a fan for your lights that moves outside air (not grow room air) through the tubes, and a fan and filter to control ambient temperature and relative humidity, or you go bare bulb but need a much larger fan and filter to control the environment.

sorry if I seem harsh I just want u to realize that this won't contribute to the ful potential of that space

you have an obscene amount of space, I wish I was so lucky!

If you want my advice scrap the tubes and go bare bulb, use the money saved to buy an adequate exhaust system which will do a far superior job.

don't get me wrong I love aircooled lights, in the right situation. However this isn't the right situation.

ooo that filter is dirty....and small for 3 lights...imo...peace an love

the filter sock was dirty cos the room was getting rebuilt, it got changed before plants went in. And small? Too small for 3 lights? Care to elaborate?
