Ventilation help.

This is a picture of a window that is in my soon to be grow room. I would like to bring in fresh air from this window. Can anybody recommend a window unit that will bring the fresh air in but keep the inside light from getting out and being visible at night.P7290031.jpg

screw and glue some plywood or gyproc over the window then cut a hole in for your ducting attach some ducting then fan to suck in fresh air, also put some blinds up in the window so no one can see that the window has been block over.

Thanks robsterb. I was planning on doing just that but wanted to know if there was a good window unit that could be installed to look like a conditioning unit or something very low profile.

Can one section of the glass be removed, and replaced with black plexiglass with a vent hole cut in it?

I just use the ambient room air for intake since the temps are within range. I do vent out of the side of my house...just cut a hole with a sawsall, and used one of those metal exterior vents. Works outstanding.

I took a old, broken window A/C and gutted it, leaving only the condenser coil and the shroud for it in place. I cut a piece of plywood to fit the inside of the case and cut 2 6" diameter holes in the plywood. One of the 6" holes aligns to the hole in the shroud. I bought 2 6" duct adhesive bulkhead fittings. One is attached to the fan shroud and the tail goes thru the plywood. That's your exhaust. Seal it with black tape. The other is attached to the plywood with the tail pointing inside. Duct tape a couple of layers of window screen to to the inside of the case, covering the louvers in the case. Keeps out bugs and the casual observer. Spray paint the plywood and the ductwork black. This is easier done with the top of the case off. When you're done, put a bead of sealant on the exposed edge of the plywood and put the top of the case back on. If LEA sees the hot air coming out your condenser, it won't arouse suspicion as they would expect hot air to come out of an A/C. Even if you don't intend to duct the intake anywhere, put a few feet of flexible duct on it and put a "S" curve in it to block the light. You can buy flexible duct that is dark on the inside. If you can't find any, use a longer piece of the shiny inside and put more bends in it. Or use two duct elbows and paint the insides black.
P.S. Screw the bulkhead fittings to whatever they're attached too, they will come off if you don't. The adhesive isn't that great. They already have holes in the flanges for screws.

Duct tape or WD-40 will fix anything.
