ventilation/cooling question

i've been brainstorming a grow for a while. and am now collecting things for when i can start it.
I'm planning on building a 4'x4'x6' grow cab. I have a 400w HPS from HTG with the cheap reflector it comes with.
I've already picked up a fan for exhaust. 250 cfm 6"inline inductor. planning on pulling air through a carbon filter then out through exhaust. will this work? how will this work on the heat issues?
also would have a fan in the cab circulating air/blowing plants to strenghten stems.

still brainstorming but any answers or advice would be appreciated.:leaf:

alright here how you do this you have a 4x4x6 room right thats 4x4=16x6=96 cubic feet so your fan well exchange your air about 2 half times per min but you have to take in to acount your carbon filter well slow this down a litte and if you have any turns in your air ducting this well slow you down to but all and all sonds like you wont have any problems plus those 400 dont get very hot

You can get 4' x 8' x 1" sheets of corolite at the lumber yard. It looks and acts like styrofoam but it doesn't burn like styrofoam. In construction it is mostly used for insulation in concrete. The last time I bought corolite it was cheaper than styrofoam. Corolite is the brand name so you might have to ask a few questions but I'm sure that the lumber yard person will know what it is.

run a 4in duct into your room, the scrubber flowing through as a exaust will cause a facume in your room and pull air through the 4in thus bringing in frest air and cooling
the room

this is cab is going to be in a basement thats partially underground, stays cool in the summer and in the winter since im moving down there i'll have heat which will stay around 70degrees more or less. i don't think i can bring in air from another room. but the room it will be in is a pretty good size. so i figured i wouldnt have a problem recirculating the air? idk if that would cause problems. what do you think?
i could run ducting up through the ceiling and over to the garage..but then i would have a whole lot of ducting to have to pull air through. 10-12' ceiling i'd say, and then the lenght to run it over...doesn't seem too feasible to me:? and wouldnt look all that stealthy.

what would be the advantages of building out of a styrophome like material like this? i was planning on just using some 2x4s and a few sheets of osb.

If you are going to vent into the room anyway why don't you just hang up some reflective plastic. You can get corolite in many colors, including white. I insulate my floor with it. I would make corners with 1" x 4" boards and use long drywall screws to tie them together. Ductape the structure together first. When done wrap it with lumberwrap. Corolite is light and easy to work with and as I mentioned it's fireproof. White corolight is a natural reflector so you don't have to buy reflective materials. It also insolates. Many people who have growen in basements have had problems with temperature control as in being to cold at times.

i dunno, it's a good idea , just had something a bit sturdier in mind? not to say your idea can't be sturdy but i would feel better with a wooden box and hanging lights and things.bongsmilie
i think i would enjoy battling lower temps more than scorching sunfire conditions:fire: lol
i think your idea though might be a good consideration if i have to make a cloning chamber down the road or something. i just dont feel it would suit my purpose at the moment.
