Vending?

hey i been wanting to start vending so a budy of mine who grows gives me a little sample and tells me to go to a bunch of clincs and see if anyone will buy it. so i do that and i go to about 4 different area in the i.e and o.c. and all the places want do do it on consignment . my buddy acts like its easy and almost all the places he goes to want to cash out.

i just been using weed maps to find all the places . idk if i have to find off the map places or what.

any advise.

If you want cash up front stand behind your product and demand it.

Consignment is an easy way to get fucked with no recourse.

How does the cosignment work?? What do u leave it for them to sell then contact u or something??

Depends on how well I know the people running the club. If it's a random club I know nothing about, cash for sure. If I've done a lot of business with them I'll do consignment.

I've never had a problem. I've had clubs take a longer time than expected to pay up, but never had one not pay. If a club I have a decent relationship tells me I'll give you 3000 right now or 3600 in two weeks then I'll wait. That's assuming they aren't totally shady.

It sounds like its worth consignment if its that much of a difference as long as they pay...

I had to take a couple chances way back when to get my foot in the door at a few dispensaries. One took a while to pay, but I got it all in the end. My advise is, if it's going to bankrupt you to get burned, don't front your meds. Most of the places I deal with now work on a terms basis. We agree on a payment date whether they sell it all or not. Typically 2 weeks.

It's always hard to find the clubs you want to deal with. You'll meet some shady folks. If you have any people skills, you'll probably know right off the bat. Trust your gut.

You can look at it like any other business. Most vendors in other businesses offer terms to etablished customers. Vendors new to any market may have to give terms to secure a client. The main difference in our little indistry is recourse...and lack of it. If you get burned there's not much you can do about it. Take your licks...tell everyone you know (here too) about your experience with said club...and move onwards and upwards. Hopefully, in time, the shady clubs will go the way of disco, and the stand up clubs will do well.

One last thought: Beware of a club offering a great price on credit. If a person negotiates hard for the lowest price, it's because he/she plans on paying you. If someone doesn't bat an eye at your price (and you're asking good money for your product), it may be because they have little intention of paying you. I had a club offer $4,200 for some Tahoe I was asking $3,800 for. He just needed a week to pay. I turned him down. A month later I read online that the club was burning vendors. They're out of business now.

Can be. Also if you're trying to unload 5 packs, they don't necessarily have that kind of cash on hand so there is no other option other than consignment. Some clubs like harborside only do consignment. They take your pack, get it tested, then give you a check in a week. They've always pay when they say they are and never stiff anyone as far as I'm aware. After they get to know you, they'll do cash up front if you absolutely need it now, but that's generally just not how they do business.

Like I said, I'll only do it with clubs I've known for a while. But with those clubs you know and trust, if you're accommodating with them, they usually pay you well.

i've always wanted to vend to them (harbor...oak, heard lot of good reviews and experience there as a purchasing patient). just about to finish my girls (1wk into flushing). do you know what their procedures are? specifics please.
ex. do they take sample of ur product, test them, call you for their pricing, if you agree, you bring rest of ur meds?

also what is their rejection rate/qualifications? like: only organics, organic and synthetic, hydro, soil, good quality, bad quality, etc...?

This is the way it was explained to me:

1. Call or walk in to the dispensaries you want to sell to and ask them if they are accepting vendors for the day.
2. Be sure to have the amount you intend to sell on you with a sample set aside for them to try. Let them try and see the "mid grade" of what you have.
3. If they like what they see, they will offer to purchase it from you.

Now, my sources may be a bit old and things may have changed, so I'm not sure if the above is correct. I'm sure someone else can chime in and give you an answer as well.

You've got to know someone. As far as I know they don't take walk ins (that's what they told me when I started there).

No sample. You bring in the whole pack, agree on a price, then they take it and get it tested. A week later you go back and they pay you.

They want good bud. If you bring them good bud, they pay you well. That simple.

Warrior, you're on the wrong website. Just go to Harborside's website. They have a vendor's page that lays the whole procedure out, including days and hours they accept new vendors. Good luck.
