Vegging with HPS?

Is it ok to veg with HPS I know they recommend MH but I only have one MH bulb and it's in use right now so all I have to veg these clones is HPS. Will this be alright I really can't afford another bulb atm.

Oyea it’s perfectly fine to Veg with an HPS

HPS works fine to veg. It might be overkill if your veg area isn't large, but there's nothing inherently wrong with vegging under HPS.

What do you think about this space it's just a small closet with the door wide open, they grow fine in flower in there but is this gonna dry em do you think? The light is 600w dimmed to 50% and is about 24 inches above them.

Dimmed that much you could get it closer if you want.

Ya I was thinking so cuz it's not hot at all, I just know that the hps is brighter and hotter than mh so I wanted to be careful I've fried plants before.

If you're not dealing with high temps i'd drop it down some.It'll help keep the stretch down.Vegging with hps is fine but you will get a little more distance between nodes so i'd keep it as close as possible.
