i got a 600 watt hps, will it be alright to veg with it?

I think a lot of people use hps for there whole grow..plus you can get full spectrum bulbs..

I've used 400 hps to veg and it worked great.

If possible, and if your ballast has the option set it to 400w for the first 5 days, then pop it to 600w or super lumen for the remainder.

I use 1000 hps to veg. Never a problem just keep it far from the plants for the first few weeks

Should be no problem. I've heard HPS trends to cause a but of a stretch but LST should be able to keep plant height in check.
