Second grow, woohoo. First grow was Big Bud done with CFL lights and was a huge success (4.7 Oz dried), so now I'm trying some new things.

New equipment
--------------------
600 Watt dimmable MH/HPS
2'x7' closet completed lined in Flashgro reflective material
General Hydroponics Dual Diaphragm Air Pump
600 CFM Inline Fan with speed regulator
Carbon Filter venting up to attic and out through roof vents
Scrog Frame

Old equipment
--------------------
10 Gallon DWC Bucket completely wrapped in Ducting Insulation (Had some left over so I did this to help regulate Res temps)
--------------------
Air temps stay around 70-75 and res temps have ranged from 63-69 degrees. Insulation seems to be keeping the res temps down from the night cold pretty good.

Never done Scrog before obviously, so this should be interesting... Any help that anybody wants to throw my way would be appreciated in relation to Scrog.

Seed sprouted on xmas day and was a super slow starter... But now that the roots have escaped the netty pot it has perked up and is growing faster... Have it under a CFL for now until it is a bit bigger, then I'll switch it over to MH.

Roots are starting to grow a lot more, everything is growing normally now... My MH light is 19 inches from the TOP of my DWC bucket, but it's not being used right now because of the plant being so young, I had issues with stretching with my last failed plant... When is a good time to switch over to MH fully and ditch this CFL light... I've read after the second set of leaves comes in, and some say they do it from the beginning of life... I can't lower my light anymore if it needs to be closer.

Here's some updated pics

Just a couple of pictures for this update. Lots of root growth. Switched over to MH fully about 2 days ago, plant is responding very well.

Not sure if I was having heat issues or over nuted... See the edges of certain leaves curling upwards... Temps never exceeded low 80s but to solve it quickly I just raised lights and lowered the ppm of my res. Ppm is around 290-310 right now. I'm going to top her, but I've never topped or scrogged before... Should I top at the next node? Would FIM be better? Should I wait longer? All advice welcome.

It was the nutes... I can see some burn on some of the lower leaves. Not worried really though because it's growing nice and lush green now, so PPM's must be good for now, floating around 250 at the moment.

Topped her exactly 48 hours ago, as you can see from the pics she didn't really miss a beat. New growth every day...

Really bushing out now...

Ppm 180... been just adding water and its growing fine, been a little skittish to add nutes since it burned earlier when I added them too soon

Roots look awesome man!

The General Hydroponic air pump I bought after my last grow REALLY pushes out some bubbles. My roots seem to be a lot whiter this go around, and a larger root mass at this stage. I actually had to dial down the air pump a bit when the roots were first exiting the net pot because it looks violent down there, lol. Like a volcano erupting under water.

Looking good, I will be starting my scrog within the next couple of week.....first one too so I hope that it will turn out good.
Good luck with your mate.

Had some deficiency issues, I believe it was cal-mag. I've bumped up the PPM to about 500 and plants seem fine so far. I'm watching what I also think may be a nitrogen deficiency or magnesium... New growth is very pale in color, since adding more nutes and cal-mag the color has improved, but I'm still watching it... The color doesn't really show in these pictures.

PH has been dropping about .3-.5 over night... Added some water and cal-mag this morning so I'll just watch everything.

I also had a branch I wanted to go in a different direction (to where more open space is), so I supercropped it... at least thats what I think I did. I basically crushed the branch inbetween my thumb and index finger, rotated, and repeated until it was crushed completely, but not destroyed. Took a pic for journal purposes.

Did some pruning last night. Took about 10 leaves off that we're getting no light and/or were crumbling off the plant because of the calcium issue I had earlier.

Had to drain res due to the PH fluctuation problems... Issues seem fixed for now, PH stayed at 5.8 for the entire night... Growth had slowed a bit and the color wasn't right... leaves were neon green almost... Pics will come later today.

Had more PH problems. Kept dropping about .1 every hour... I figured it was either the cal-mag or the dyna-grow that kept causing these ph issues even after draining res... I drained it again and instead am using veg+bloom now for the nutes. All is well again, PH is stable, if anything it rises .1 every now and then, which is normal.

OK, PH problems are fine now... Veg+Bloom has been working fine, plant loves it, everything seems to be smooth right now. I super-cropped all the main branches on the right side... Figured this would give me a good side by side comparison for educational purposes. I'm thinking of flipping to my HPS and 12-12 in a couple days. Quickly losing space on this screen but the supercropping should slow the right side down.

Also did some pruning underneath, it was becoming a jungle.
