So some friends and I have decided to jump into the wide world of sports that is BHO production. Towards that end we've purchased a 5lb extractor, a 1.9ft^3 vac oven and two (allegedly) 12 CFM vacuum pumps from Bhogart.
Well, all week we've been messing around trying to get our gear working to produce some tip-top wax...but the vacuum oven will not completely vacuumize. Now, if this had happened from the get-go I would have simply taken the oven and/or pumps back to Bhogart and told them that their products were defective...but the thing is, it worked the first time around. When we tested the oven with one pump it came down to -30 (or -29.whatever) mmHg. It took forever, but it got there.
Now, no matter how long we run the pump(s - we bought another to evacuate the oven more quickly) the oven won't depressurize past ~-28mmHg. Both pumps pull the extractor down to -30 in a few minutes.
Anyone have any experience with something like this?
