Hello everyone.
I have read up on the use of UVB lighting and have used it along with HPS and MH lighting during flowering and have seen some amazing results.
Was using the old ESU 7% UVB 96 watt 34 inch bulbs and the 10% UVB 40 watt by zoo med. They have now changed the bulbs to T8 and only 32 watt bulbs.
I was trying to find the replacement bulbs for the 96 watt 7% but they do not make them anymore. (believe it was a german company that made the square 4 pin bulbs but cannot find them anywhere.) They were a great HO UVB bulb and did produce a good result.
All that is available now is the 10K, 6700K, 50/50 and the atanic 420nm bulbs in that high wattage 4 pin square configuration. ugh.

I did speak with one manufacture who has an 8% UVB High output 55 watt bulb. He said he can put together the ballast, 2each 55 watt 8% UVB bulbs and 8ft cords with waterproof endcaps for 100 bucks. Would anyone else be interested in purchasing these as a package? Maybe we can get a better deal if we order a few? Each bulb is a twin bulb 22 " each and can be used to add lighting to the lower half and sides of your plants. Also because they are each on 8 foot cords they can be moved around and hung to your liking.

Here are 3 other threads on the UVB subject if you care to do more reading.

If anyone else has a better source with this kind of UVB % and intensity please let me know.
Happy to give you the company name so you can order on your own. Just PM me.

Thanks for these links bro .... I think I got confirmation......I will be running my 26w 10.0 uvb cfl from now(2 weeks) till my trichomes begin to amber.....don't want to over due it:eyesmoke:.........I can say that these low watt uvb bulbs have to be pretty close to be effective......ive used it before, for a few hours midday the last 4 weeks with NO NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IN THC PRODOCTION.....so like I said 12 hrs a day till ripe.peace

I also read this thread that is good and suggests the Arcadia UVB bulb's with 12 % UVB. However they are 50 bucks each and you need to get a HO ballast and caps ect.

These UVB florecent or compact florecent lamps can be hung between plants on hangers and can be easily moved you can have good coverage on multiple plants. Especially the 48" ones.

The deal above seems to be good for 2 lights, 2 bulbs each 55 watts each light 110 total watts UVB 8% for $100. Each bulb is 22"

I use the 26 watt reptisun cfl and ran it the last 45 days of flower. I also have a uvb meter so I know what I am getting. You want no less than 150 uw and no more than 500 uw on the buds.

It produces a creeper effect on the high and longer lasting imo. Stronger and more complete too.

There are not more trichomes or resin, it is the chemicals in the resin that are changed a bit.

You can not just put a uvb bulb over your plants and expect that to do it. You have to know the amounts of uvb that are hitting the plant and the level drops off a lot in just a few inches. I had to move the bulb up and down in the canopy to hit the high and low buds.

I had the the bulb hanging vertical in the center of tent with plants in a circle. The closest buds to the light were 3 inches and they were getting over the 500 uw but I had to cram it all in there, due to space restrictions.
