using rockwool as bulk substrate for monotub?

I noticed spores love rockwool. They always show up in time. So why can't I transfer mycellium to it? Its easy to sterilize and heat transfer is easy. So I was thinking of doing a slab in a monotub with a casing layer. I've done pf cakes in the past. Let me know if you have any info. To its success or failure, also any ideas are appreciated. Thanks guys

I never think of rockwool even weed due to its availability and ph balancing. But my first assumption would be the rockwool fragments.that could.possibly attach to, or be absorbed by the growing fungus. And the ph balance. But isn't rockwool pretty high in the ph range? So that part would be somewhat beneficial.
You can always google."SHROOMS GROW ROCKWOOL".

I go thru 288 cubes every 8 weeks. At the end there covered with algea and mold. So I was thinking i could transfer onto them day 1. After I harvest the girls they'll be fully colonized, I could move them, making an 8x8 bed indoors and drop temp & mist, ect to induce fruiting. Throwing out any that looked contaminated. And I guess I'm saying that rockwool hold no nutrients, but the water n nutes do... It may not be well thought out but if I can grow white and black mold, I can grow mycelium n reep the fruits...

I assume that you try to pc the rock first. I assume the rw will be a bed that the sub sits on top of?

Well, remember that mushrooms are not plants. While they do need some of the fundamentals, they like sugars and carbs.

I guess spent cubes might have stuff bit it wouldn't be much.

Try it out.

Just a thought you know, i heard of those co2 mushroom bags too, and people use coco to hold spawn and make cakes so Why not... I Imagine if it did take to it, it would help co2 rise also. But I think theres a better shroom to use instead of a cubensis. Maybe anzures? Or?
