Using Rice To Speed Dry

I was wondering if it was possible to use uncooked rice to speed up the drying process with cannabis?

I've use this method often in the process of drying wet psilocybin fungus, and so far I've had great, overnight, success. I simply fill a decent size mixing bowl with uncooked, long-grain rice, then dig a little hole in the center, and then bury whatever it is that I need dried.

From what I can tell, this doesn't seem to have any effect on the quality of my bud or my fungus, and it dries grass to a tolerable smoking moisture in less than 24hours (PICKED FRESH OFF THE BUSH!):weed:

drying needs to take time for the chlorophyll to dissipate. It's a process that you shouldn't rush, you waited months for the harvest to come, what's a week more?
