Using Halogene lights..

Is it possible for me to use small halogene spot lights for my seedlings as long as heat is under control?

technically, get some cfls though. put out more light, cheaper to run, cooler to run. most of incandesent bulbs energy is put out as heat, you would have to keep the bulb way to far away for it to do anything other than keep the plant technically alive and stretch badly and then stall out.

Halogens are also the wrong spectrum for plant growth, 23w CFLs are REALLY cheap too.

Halogens are just a brighter type of incandescent bulb - no use for growing - great for vehicle lights.
