Using Fox Farm nutes as I see fit.

My question is will using liquid nutes ( in my case FF trio ) sparingly and just here and there not on a schedule cause any adverse effects? Do you need to follow a strict routine with these? I've just slowly eased into using BB, maybe once a week sometimes less then raised the amount slowly (only upto 2tbls per gallon and will probably stay at that) then eased into using FF BG. I kinda rotate water, BB, and GB, sometimes watering more in between. I always water between nute feedings, never go back to back with the nutes. Then the days I spray neem oil I always water after, I never use nutes directly after. Do plants need to be on a more regimented schedule? I "think" my plants are healthy. I've had other growers look at them say they look good. They don't have any significant color changes on the leaves, maybe a lower leaf here and there might get some yellowing and of course a little pest damage but no infestations- very limited damage here and there. I guess my main concerns are will my plants benefit significantly from putting them on a strict feeding schedule or am I causing undo stress on them by feeding them eradically? I'm just kinda of a "fly by the seat of my pants" guy. Any feedback would be appreciated this is my first outdoor grow since the 70's. Thanks.

I use the fox farms. Uually just grow big, and big bloom. I also feed heavily wit bat guano. I dont go by any real schedule with the fox farms, just every couple waterings i give them the fox farms, increasing till they can handle a heavy dose.... by heavy, I mean like 4-6 tbsp per gallon of water :D They always seem to eat it right up.... The results are usually nothing short of amazing.....

Personally I try to garden by feel and by reading the plants not by a set schedule. I'm no expert but I feel looking at a plant and then figuring out what it might need will get me better results than just pouring stuff on it because a chart told me too. For example I have a couple small white widow that look a little yellow today. They're right next to some others that are nice and green. I'll probably give those two an extra feeding this week and the others will get water.

The closest thing to a schedule I personally follow is to feed every other watering but depending on when the plants look thirsty that might be every other day or it might be every six days.

Thanks for this info. Sounds like you are thinking along the same lines as I am. I was just wondering if you start feeding nutes to plants do they start needing those nutes? Do they develope a craving for them? I tend to feed very lightly because I notice no signs of them being unhealthily- why try to fix what's not broken. But on the other hand maybe my plants would flourish even more with more feeding? I suppose more experience is the answer. Still learning to read my plants needs.

I have noticed that as I start feeding stronger doses of nutes some of my plants begin to grow faster but that could be because they're older and more established at that point also. I'm not sure. I'm still learning as well. There seems to be a fine line between just right, and too much when it comes to chemical nutes. The organic stuff seems harder to over do. I just aim for keeping them green and not overdoing things while I learn. It's easy to add a little more, it's hard to take it away when you've used too much.

I'm trying to push my girls using some organic methods right now because they seem harder to do wrong, rich compost, compost tea, and some high nitrogen bat guano later this week. Pushing them is a little scary honestly. I'm always afraid of overdoing it.
