Using 4 150W CFLS for Veg will this be enough?

As the title says im using 4 150 watt CFLs for vegatation. The lights are approximatly 1.5 ft from the plants. Is this enough wattage and should the plants be closer to the light?

you CAN have them closer, but with as much reflective material as oyu have it seems there is little light loss at that distance, and your plants dont seem to be stretching bad. How old are your plants? Lookin good.

Thanks for the reply. They where two weeks old in those pics. theyre 3weeks nw but im havign over watering & nuetriant problems. soo there not looking that great at the moment unfortunatly. would having the lights closer to the plats make them grow faster?

Are those actually 150w cfl's or are they 42w (equivalent to 150w)?

from the size, i'd say 42's.

That's what I'm thinking too.

You should still lower your lights to a couple inches above the plants. The reflective material helps, but light from cfl's doesn't penetrate very far before it loses it's "juice".

Yeah its the 42W. The actual 150W CFLs are massive. thanks ill check it out.

26w are 150 equiv, 42 are 200 equiv those look like 26w 42s are much bigger

I checked em they are the 42W. I was thinking of taking a 8'' 3way power cord adapter and hanging it from the surge protectors on the roof and hanging the CFLs right next to the plants. good or bad idea?
