Uruguay government says it plans to sell marijuana to registered users

"The government would have a monopoly over the distribution and sales of the drug, which could be sold only to adults registered as users."

Run like that there would still be a huge illegal market and defeat many of the reasons for legalizing it, don't you think?. This is what we'll probably get here in the States. This way the DEA can stay in the game enforcing the government's ideology of control and can continue their proud tradition of stealing a citizen's assets over growing a plant :finger:! Oh wait, even better. This will just give the government an excuse to start a whole new branch of government to regulate their new industry. Mmmm sweet tasty bureaucracies :).

And he doesn't look stoned. But whoever came up with this idea was high as a kite.

Thats why I posted this. If this goes, it might be the end of what we wanted in the first place. Here in the US if political trash bags can steal more money from people they will.

yea fuck that. the law states the government would grow, and sell it. and the users cannot grow at home. seems shitty to me. Argentina is currently re-working their law where ´auto-cultivo´ (growing for personal use only) would be legalized. anyone selling, buying, for any reason, is still highly illegal.

2 sides to the same coin i guess. both places are already legal to smoke in. the issue is how are the people supposed to smoke it, if they cant grow or buy it? and the 2 countries disagree on which is the right answer, allowing to grow (and the sale of seeds) or selling pot to the people.

Ill stay in argentina =) the dirt here is great.
