Urgent question on plant veg cycle - White Widow

Hey guys, growing white widow, in 6th week of veg... plants are about a foot tall now really nice stem and main cola structure, plants are very healthy. my only concern is that the branches of my plants are not growing out as fast as the main cola. is this normal? It seems that the fan leaves are taking all the light and the branches (which will potentially grow bud on them) are not developing. is this a normal stage in Veg? will the branches start to mature during Flowering?

You should try topping. info in the Grow FAQ, but essentially it slows down the growth of the main cola and gives the side branches a chance to catch up. Also results in more Colas.

will topping result in more yield?
