Uppimg light hours during last month of flowering ? ? ?

hi all,

The guy in the greenhouse seeds videos on youtube say he switches to 14 or EVEN 16 hours ! during the last weeks of flowering..with no negative side effects ?? is this a good idea ? does anyone else do this ? he seems to know his stuff ???
