Upgrading lights hard choice

So wanted to post this is a thread I stared but it wouldn't let me upload the pictures. So posting them here. Need to get better lights for the babies since they don't have much right now, and I am deciding between a 1000 way hid and a t5 led. The hid would require timer and ducting I just can't afford at the moment and the other would be easier less to worry about

hps dude, dont need ducting but will need fans, ducting is for later when you want to be able to wake when ever instead of wake up put fan in tent then crash again.

So you no on the t5 yes on the hps and u don't need ducting If u have a fan

you need a fan at least 200 cfm, ducting would help alotits only like 30 bucks for ducting at the hydro store, good luck

Like everyone said hps and fans. Several options to cool it down. You could leave the door or tent open when the light is on. Run the lights at night. You could also throw a few CFLs running in there. Then just have the hps timed to shut off when temps peak out. Then turn back on when it cools.

The guy that wanted to sell me the bps wanted 200 for a year old used model so not sure what I'm doing yet but I. Still looking in the how area
and the grow room is in my house so not tent door lol but I have a growing fan in there already

I would consider a 600w HPS light too...a 1000 is going to be way hotter and and cost more to run.

Well I'm getting the t5 trading it for an old Xbox since I don't half to pay anything and its better than what I have now I can always upgrade to a hps later

Why not get a lumatec os similar 600 watt ballast with the switch so you can change from 250, 400, 600, or 660 watt that way you could start off small at 250 with pretty much not real heat issues, save up a few quid over the next few weeks then buy your extractor fans and ducting and when you have that shit up and running flipp that swich to 600 and your off...

T5 are always nice to have around for veg. If and when get a hps down the line you could set up two tents or make two separate areas and veg in one area with t5 then flower with hps in another. And spliffchris makes a great point with the dimmable ballast.

Well the t5 has bloom bulbs for flowering too both a red and blue spectrum replacable bulbs
