uniform potency

Hi everyone. I'm pretty new here but I have been lurking for a while.
I have a question. Will the potency of a specific plant be uniform throughout the entire plant? Or will it vary from branch to branch? If potency is inconsistent, will it vary very much?
Thanks for looking.

The uppermost colas will be more potent because they have been exposed to the greatest amount of light and have grown the densest.

Also the buds near the light ripen the first. So if you want more uniform potency you watch the change to amber and clip off branches as there ready and hang them to cure.

So the denser the cola, the more potent it will be, even if it is low on the plant? Just asking because the best cola I had was on a lower branch that stuck out pretty good and got almost as much light as the top of the plant.
