Human urine consists primarily of water, with organic solutes including urea, creatinine, uric acid, and trace amounts of enzymes, carbohydrates, hormones, fatty acids, pigments, and mucins, and inorganic ions such as sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), chloride (Cl-), magnesium (Mg2+), calcium (Ca2+), ammonium (NH4+), sulfates (SO42-), and phosphates (e.g., PO43-).
A representative chemical composition would be:

water 95%

urea 9.3 g/l

chloride 1.87 g/l

sodium 1.17 g/l

potassium 0.750 g/l

creatinine 0.670 g/l

with lesser amounts of other ions and compounds

Exactly! One of the most natural and diverse sources of nitrogen and full of nutrients depending on your diet. Taking a multivitamin a few hours before taking your urine adds all that you can't absorb (most of it) back out in the urine and adds those elements to the mix for a powerful veg. fert. if diluted about 1 to ten. If this guy really put his urine directly on the plant it would kill it as surely as dumping a whole bottle of Grow Big on it. I am continuously amused by the reactions to the use of urine by the uneducated on these pages when that same person will use cow and bat guano and other gross ingredients with no thought. A chemical is a chemical and almost always the more natural the source the better the result. You can buy fertilizers with the same constituent ingredients as urine, but it would cost a lot. The only draw back I have found is the odor, which dissipates quickly. ALL of you grossed out by this idea have already ingested all the same components of urine and are using it on your plants whether you realize it or not. Just read the ingredients and compare. So go ahead and get PISSED, BECAUSE YOU ALREADY ARE!

Because urine shows a larger chemical diversity. The compounds found in human urine fall into 230 different chemical classes. Researchers have found that at least 3,079 compounds can be detected in urine. Seventy-two of these compounds are made by bacteria, while 1,453 come from the body itself. Another 2,282 come from diet, drugs, cosmetics or environmental exposure (some compounds belong to more than one group). Given that there are only 356 chemical classes in the entire human metabolome, this certainly demonstrates the enormous chemical diversity found in urine. The following is from NASA

THAT'S A LOT OF FERTILIZER TO BUY ISN'T IT? YOU NEED TO THINK IN TERMS OF FEEDING THE SOIL NOT THE PLANT. HUMAN URINE IS GREAT FOOD FOR MYCORRHIZAE AND THEREFORE THE ROOTS. AND REMEMBER HEALTHY ROOTS MEANS GOOD TOOTS!

: Maybe an old discussion, certainly not an old subject. This site's usefulness usually comes from it's past. The drawback maybe that less see it. Maybe you want to move it to a new discussion?

What about using dog urine? Are different breeds urine better for different strains? I have a Chihuahua. Would that be good for a Mexican strain?


But really. Why? I'm not peeing on my plants or collecting urine to use as fertilizer. But have at it. What people do in the privacy of their grow room is none of my business.

If the animal is fed a natural diet and they’re not on prescription meds, then that’s a solid plan. Dog, human, squirrel. Doesn’t matter.

So piss in a bucket, dilute it 1:10 ..should I aerate with bubble stone...take my piss after I take my multi-vitamin... don’t tell nobody...oh and use ffof..do I need to ph the piss...thank god at 44 I’m not on any medication... other than full of thc’d piss...I wonder as well as feeding the myco’s and soil...will my piss that’s rich in thc raise the level of thc in my flowering plants?B28C6D8A-B680-4730-9D69-A5AB61AEBD94.gif

THC in urine won’t affect plant potency.

The microbes will likely eat any sugar / carbs in the urine, and make the macros available for the plant

This presumes you are growing in real soil, and not feeding bottled nutes Bottle feeding seriously changes the soil biome and I can’t say what might happen. The bottle feeding changes the microbe / plant dynamic
