Maybe it's just me.. I'm confused?

"how to keep a plany short and bushy but at the same time not very wide."
"how to make if full and slender i guess is the words."
"kind of tall but then kind of short but full but not to wide is this a strain thing or can it be trained to do so."

ok if you got lest say like a 3-5gal bucket (planter) how can i keep the plant (if possable) with in the size of the planter its self.(if that makes sence)but keep this plant filling out while not making it talk.then when the time to is to come and flower you got the extra room needed for the size gain in flowering.if you want more i can probably explain more about what im tryin to get at

thanks for giving it your best to help me,people like you make this site fun and good place to hang and talk

okay let me ask you a couple of questions and you answer them then maybe we will all see what you are really shooting for ya know?

how tall do you want your plant???

do you want it to be wide or no???

do you want all your branches to be the same heigth???

If you answer these w/ straight forward answers I think we could lead you in the right direction......

ok
im not looking for much taller then 12"veg and 24"atmost in flowering maybe a bit more im just guessing on my grow space size's witch is just a bit bigger then theses sizes

yea i would like like it some what wide but no widwe then 6inchs if thats resonable.

im not really worryed about them being the same height even tho i have read that its better for growth. so if it can be done then yes

my grow space size is about 2'x2'x3 1/2'-4' im hoping to get like 4 plants in this size space if this helps you guess what im looking for,im kind of new to the whole growing thing so please dont flame me if these our wacked out hopes. lol

Well here is what I have done. I took a plant that was 29 days old and topped it.

Here is a picture of the plant where I topped at. It was at section 3. The plant was 29 days old, 7 inches tall with 7 total nodes. I cut the top two nodes so that it was left with 5. Notice the newer sprouts growth through the following pictures.

Here is what the plant looked like 9 hours after being topped.

Another pic at 9 hours

Here is a picture of the same plant 4 days old

Here is a current pic of the plant 8 days after being topped

Another pic at 8 days

Plant is now 37 days old, 8 inches tall and 9 inches wide. By topping the plant the lower growth is receiving more light. Also, the plant now has two stems to grow further nodes out of, instead of just one. This in theory should produce more candidates for clones, and more places to produce buds if you decide to flower.

sog- sea of green, utilizes topping
scrog- screen of green, a net is used and plants are trained thru it

sog = sea of green. that means people grow lots of little plants instead of a few big plants. topping creates a lot of stress on your plant. it'll generally stop growing in the area you topped and concentrate growing in other areas. I guess you can top more than once, but it isn't recommended. what i am trying to do is build up a big, strong mother to take clones from. this way i know that all of my clones are going to be female and a exact copy of it's mother. If i get enough mothers, i can create a sog with all of their clones. =)

thats coo. im not goin big im just look for like 3-4 plants but what kind of stress could this stress cause less bud or how strong the smoke is or is it just stresss that stops growth.

what kind this stress cause.

Fade 2 black...

Thanks for the reply. I think this time, as it is my first, I will focus on keeping them alive and undetected for 3-4 months needed to produces something meaningful. Next time I will go with all female seed and spend more time playing with the plants. LST for example. Right now I have so much growth I am not sure what to do with it all. In fact, I switched to flowering today so I can thin out the males. ;) Worse problems to have. :)

scrog is also useful to help keep everything growing on the same level...like for instance:
Say Ur growing 3 plants but U notice that one plant is growing faster than the other 2. U build a "screen" using chicken wire and set it about 1 inch above the tallest plant. While the tallest plant is trying to find its way thru the holes, the other 2 plants have time to catch up to the height of the taller one...that creates a canopy on top, giving your plants a more uniform look, and allowing even light distribution...

Mr I Can Do That For Half
For scrog you can use construction temp plastic fence. It comes in rolls is cheap and light. The whole are a little bigger and the weight is little easier on the plants.Usually comes in orange or green like a big plastic net.Home depot or lowes has it.
