I switch my lights on time to be over night during the winter, saves having to run the heating as much.
Humidity in the summer last year was terrible for me. Still working on what I'm going to do this year.

Luckily I have a new veg cabinet, which is holding its temps and humidity nicely.

Also, check out this mutant. The entire top of the plant is just one big leaf. I love weird plant growths, will be fun to see what it does.

BDECB1FF-64D3-4F09-AFBC-8557E262A269.jpeg I splashed out on solistek 1000w de lights and a controller. And a variety of bulbs. When temps get too high the controller dims the lights or can even turn them off if you programme it to do so. Plus they dim by 40% every 3 hours to mimic cloud cover and give the plants a little rest. Huge extraction is essential to keep the humidity lower in summer plus a dehumidifier for the spikes when lights turn off. It’s a struggle!

Humidity is never a problem unless it hits 70 or over, i have an aircooled light but i found it made little difference to barebulb so i run it without the glass.

Uk Summer night temps are fine for hps, to be honest as long as heat cant build up you shouldnt have any heat issues regardless of temps.

Make sure thermometer is not under the light, this is a false reading caused by radiant heat, we only want to measure ambient, transpirational cooling can deal with more than we give in radiant heat.

Wider area light futher away, canopy more open to hit lower buds more airflow.

Never blow wind on plants, quite un natural and most of all numero uno heat resistance comes from tip top healthy plants.

I just keep a window open so no build up of heat and my plants are sweet most summers :-)

They are a great bit of kit, the lights piss all over the gavitas I’ve used for a few years. Plus the array of bulbs might cost a few quid but man they make a big difference to the final product.
I aim for 40% humidity for last 3 weeks. It really helps them pack on the trichs and is good insurance against mould and pathogens. 70% humidity is ideal for plants but not so good right at the end. Also many carbon filters struggle to work at such high humidity.

I'm still working out all the kinks with my humidity for flowering. This is the first time I've grown through winter, and it was much more manageable.
In summer time last year I had high humidity, up to 78% for a couple days at one point during flower.
I managed to avoid any mold/rot but I'll probably be buying a dehumidifier for this summer.

Anyone have any recommendations? I'd probably be looking to have something that can maintain humidity in a 16*16*10ft room (that the tent is in and vents into).... Fuck trying to fit a dehuey into my tent haha. Unless there's a decent compact model.

I bought mine from growell and just looked to send you the link but can’t see it on their site any more. Quest are considered one of the better brands but they are pretty pricey

The only time you should have humidity problems is if you dont vent your tent and room. Plants work upto 105% humidity but mold is the problem and that sets in at 70% with low air movement.

I cant have the windows open in the tent room, so I have to open the door a few times a day to allow air exchange...it's not an ideal situation, but it's what I have haha.

If you keep your humidity around 40% last 3 weeks you will see an increase in resin production. Trust me!

I found it a total chore changing humidity though, mostly my humidity is whatever it is outside or indoors and i had to change that to change my tent humidity.

My fans change the air so many times it links my environment to whats outside it.

Mainly this year its been 50-65% but i live near the sea so it dosent change much :-)

Yeah humidity can be a pain in the ass to nail. I reckon at a push the best thing to do is have a dehumidifier on for the first few hours when lights go off to combat the spike. I’ve been a bit obsessed with humidity this year
