UK Alternative to molasses?

Since in UK they do not sell molasses, would Lyles golden syrup or lyles black treacle be an alternative? If so how much do i put in? Thanks for reading

Black treacle is basically unsulphured molasses. A tablespoon a gallon is about right, stir it well to make it properly dissolve.

Look in Subcools Threads on this forum about using Sucranat, From a health food store.
