Uhoh is my topping job okay?

So I topped my plant last night around 8 p.m and now its 10:30 a.m and it doesnt seem to show any sign of improvement, maybe I dont see it. Anyways its my first time ever doing it...ever....so I am hoping I did it wrong if not shit it is all good I spose..Here are some pictures, the first one is of the plant untopped the last two are topped, tell me if it looks right..

In the second picture the red circle is showing where the stem is since my camera is blurry, the yellow lines show these two leaves that are sprouting up on each side but there in the nodes..Tell me if I fucked up or if im just worrying since its my first grow..

Relax dude its only been ten hours you should be OK though.

Haha, well hell I dont know how long the topping takes to show, and I wasnt sure if I cut it too short or something considering the stalk is lower then the top leaves..you know how it is being new at growing. You dont want too snip off the plant too much and fuck it up, I mean I went into the process knowing as much as I could without doing it, but that doesnt mean you wont mess up..Knowledge can only help so much, its the experience that matters and the questions answered...
