how the fuck do i know, with no pics, .
is the plant light or dark green.
look for stavia and indica plants and see whay type yours is. google it .
is hard to tell strain till later on into 12/12.
how far on are you into your grow.
but cannot help until i see the plants.
im not magic.lol

determine it in what way?what strain it is?wether its sativa or indica or wether its male or female?

when you get into the flowering stage, this is when you will be able to tell strain when the buds begin to form. I have 13 plants. I grew them from seed, so I prob. have 13 different strains! lol don't know , don't really care since they are baggie seeds. but they are growing and they are weed, and that's ok by me. butpost a few pics, the experst here will be able to give you some insight as to the strains you have.

Ok first.....take it easy on the new guy, guys...you know what it is like to just be starting out....

When you flower you cant tell what strain it is, that is when you tell what sex it is...aka male or female.
The buds might give you a better direction to go in but if you dont know what kind you start with....odds is you will never know...There are so many types and strains...
And with a plant that young...you cant tell anything about it.....just that its some marijuana....
I got a seed from some bomb ass chronic that im growing i just call it...SCHWAG BAG PLANT.....:hump: If it smokes good, who cares what kind it is....GET HIGH...

you are right - but in our defense - the sprout could hardly be identified as weed let alone the strain.

but yes - you'll be lucky to determine whether it is sativa or indica let alone actually being able to tell if it is blueberry or skunk number 17.5 or whatever...

floopers - what we are trying to tell you with our obviously failed attempt at humor is your plant is way, way too young to even hazard a guess. And even after it is full grown - hell even after you are smoking the buds it is going to be difficult to tell what strain it is. you should be able to tell (in the future) whether it is predominantly sativa or indica - but sometimes they will even fool you.

In order to understand strain we need to back-track and understand varieties first:
Varieties
In the meantime, let’s look at the varieties of marijuana. Strictly speaking, there is only one species of marijuana: Cannabis sativa. This is the scientific and legal classification. Of course, many growers know there are three different varieties and many strains made up of these different varieties.
1) Sativa: characteristics include a lighter green color, long thin leaves and flowers, and are generally very tall and lanky. Highs are usually described as cerebral or energetic.
2) Indica: characteristics include dark green shorter and wider leaves with denser flowers and more powerful aroma. Highs are usually described as laid-back and sleepy or "couch-lock" high.
3) Ruderalis: generally not used for cultivation since yield, THC content, and flowering times can be unpredictable.

Note the information is general and differences can and will appear among varieties. Also note that many strains are a mix of indica and sativa.

So strains are breeders "top of the line" (hopefully) products of either pure varieties or a mixing of them. Some popular strains are: white widow, northern lights, skunk #1, blueberry, etc...
