What type of wood (oak, cherry etc) would be best to build a grow box?

I would go as cheap as possible. Some nice particle board or plywood. Or even better yet, just buy a pre-made grow box....(the straights call them wardrobe closets)

use cheap stuff and paint the inside white.

i picked up chip board at the HD
was like 7$ for each 4'x8'

so any cheap wood will work +D? but won't the heat, moistures affect the cheap wood?

dont get chip board wet ... like outside in the rain
it shouldnt be that moist in your room to cause any problems
