Hey everyone. Im in week 4/5 or flowering. Was wondering if I should put supports in for my plants when they start to swell and get bud heavy ? Any thoughts

If you keep a good strong fan on them they will be able to support themselves.

Sounds like you might already be beyond that point, just get some sticks of some type and tie them up to them. Not really rocket surgery.

But they look like nice robust plants, doesn't look like they need much help.

Just my opinion but don't conjure up problems where they do not exist.

i do have a strong fan on them and they seem to have thick stem, just wanted to see what everyone had in mind when they swell. i think ill just tie up some of the lower ones that are stretched more horizontal. thanks guys

Rocket surgery? lol wtf is that? Sorry to troll your page, that comment killed me! :-D All this time I thought rocket science was hard..

I've used a tomato cage on the odd plant .. gives the branches support...cheap and easy to use .

happy growin

I put a tomato cage on every plant these days.
Part of this is because I grow branchy hybrids with high yields... but, it helps with most any mid sized to large plant.
It's not even so much that the cage does a ton of supporting as it is a nice centrally based point to tie the plants off to. If you have many plants in an area you can get away with just giving every other plant a cage. You're just make many points to tie off to.

Your plant is pretty short though... you should not have nearly the issues that a grower doing tall plants would have.

I recommend sturdy twists over string. Reusable, sturdy, much better than string.

Nice plant by the way...

Yuo should be so lucky as to grow buds that big. Me? I like the little low urinals in the men's room, you know? Think they are for kids? Ha!! They are so old men like me don't throw our backs out hoisting all that weight. We can let half swing. Use silica in your soil from the start for stems so strong you won't need bracing. Most weak stems are not really so much from bud weight but from poor K & P supply and/or uptake, especially in early flower. Silica with your soil, along with dolomite lime, makes for good late plant health and stem strength when it counts.
