bongsmilieHello Everyone!

I am new to these forums haven't really posted much. Let me start by saying this will be the first time I have even tried to grow, so that being said please bare with me.

I am posting this journal up to hear from more experienced growers any type constructive criticism. So if you feel that you may have any type of helpful input please go ahead and feel free to let me know what ya think...

I am currently are only growing one Purple Kush clone due to "newbie" technical difficulties.. but after the road gets smoother in the future I am planning of putting a total of 4 plants under the 1000w for the flowering phase

Set Up:

Hydroponics - DWC/Top Feed Buckets (Self Contained Resevoir) - Each Bucket has air stone - NO STAGNANTNESS =P HERE!!

Grow Tent - 6 Feet Tall / 4.5 Feet Depth / 4.5 Feet Across

Ventilation - 1 Inline Fan Connected to Carbon Scrubber Exhausting Air from the top of the tent.
We also have a regular oscillating fan at the bottom of the tent.

Lighting - Vegging - As of right now we only have about 6 of our CFL's hooked up we need some connecters to connect the rest to the Surge Protectors.
- Flowering - 1000w HPS Bulb / ValueBright Reflector

Temps - Normal Temp for the tent is around 75-80

Humidity - Good (Humidifier)

Nutrients: General Hydroponics =)

Now all that being said I attached plenty of pics for your viewing pleasure... If you guys think there is anyway I can better my set up please do..

Update: Yesterday I noticed a bit of a burn on the tips of the leaves, I also noticed some yellowing which can be seen in some of the pictures... I flushed the resevoir and mixed a new nutrient with a higher ppm.

Ppm: 490 (which read 760 on the meter due to the water having a ppm of 270)
Ph: 6.1 (I had to add about 5 drops of ph down to stabilize the water after the nutrients)

:?::leaf::!::finger: Any feedback would be appreciated...

Hey! You copied my system! Haha!
Seriously, this is the first time on here that I've seen a system exactly like mine, airstone and all!

Oh, and I would just be patient. You're Kush is probably just having a little transplant shock. If conditions don't improve after a couple of days (don't keep flushing), then post an update.

One suggestion: it looks as though your air line goes through the top, but if you can make a small notch in the top part of the bucket and run the airline separate from the rest of the lid. My lids cover over the edge, so no light leak to the water.

It sounds like you're using hard tap water. What kind of nutes are you using? I only ask, b/c I've gotten less-than-great results with hard tap (250-300ppm yuck!). I just recently switch to bottled. Some grocery stores have the "water machines" that fill 5 gals for $1.50, but I'd rather spend $3 a week than get crappy results again. Also, you're gonna notice MAJOR salty build-up on the lids (b/c the waterfarm tends to spray everywhere) and on the drip ring. You'll be cleaning the drip ring with hot water at least ever res change.

Hope this helps. I'm keeping an eye on this one, so keep posting!

Thanks Alot Dr. Dank for your post I will be updating just about daily with pictures thanks for your feedback.. I will be updating with more pics today.

and as far as the air stone goes i made a little hole on the side of the net pot with a drill bit so that it wouldn't get light leak i should have taken a pic of that to show anyone that may need help.

and as for the water, i am using hard tap water I actually had been using Reverse osmosis water but i kind of got curious and ended up mixing tap water with reverse osmosis water 50/50... (not sure if this is a stupid move but if it is let me know and i will change it to 100% reverse osmosis asap)

as far as nutes we are using general hydroponics, and are using the general purpose - mild nutrient mix. since we figured the clone is rooted

more pics coming later today

Update: Ok so now i have been checking the reservoir regulary. i have the PH and PPM at a range of 6.0 - 6.5 and the ppm was at 760 when i checked it so i topped of the buckets with some distilled water and took another tds reading which came out to 670.

I have some pics I kind of feel like the plant is a bit more erect and I think I have noticed some new growth but we will see.. pics below. if you think the plant may have a problem other than transplant shock please feel free to let me know...

Remember I AM A NOOB!

Still alive?

Anyways, I hope you brought the pH down, and your plants are looking better. You'll want the pH between 5.5 - 6.0.
