I have a chest of drawers I want to make into a stealh cabinet.It is 16" wide,4'8" long & 2' tall.I was thinking of putting 2-6" fans in it.If it needs more I can add to suit.My real problem is lighting.The ppl. that respond are usually serious growers,they tell u what you should have(which I appreciate),but are reluctant to tell you what u can just get by with.So...I was thinking of splitting the length,to have half to veg. & half to flower.I'm doing this more for experiance than yield & quality.I want to use cfl,s until I know enough & have more cash, to do anything more.I'm trying to use as little power as possible too.I'm not sure how many lights are needed for a given space,and I don't know what type I would need.I've pored over various threads on this site and others and can't really find much help,at least in terms I understand.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2 ft in height isn't going to get you much, you'll benefit from a "Scrog".
As far as lighting is concerned, you'll benefit from compact florescence as their heat output is relatively low, and so low in fact that you can usually hold a 23watt CFL in your hand while it is on.
The general rule of thumb is to have 100watt's per plant minimum. 100 watts of CFLs could be 4x23watt 6500k* CFL, or could be 1x100watt 6500k* CFL.
Ideally you will want even light distribution over your plant, so I recommend the 4x23watt option or a variation of it. It is also cheaper.
Additionally, 4x23 watts should net you roughly 6,400 lumens. The output of the sun is about 10,000 lumens per square foot if I recall correctly. If my calculations are correct, you'll have 9 square feet of space so some will probably say you need 90,000 lumens which is just ridiculous within your space.
*6500k is for vegatative
*2700k is for flowering

2 feet can easily work ... just dig a hole in the floor for the roots so you dont need pots in ther ..
and if you skip the light completly you wont just have more space in ther .. you will also safe a lot of money on your grow room ..
dont seems like you want to use much anyway .. keep ignoring what Ppl. tells you to get
no offend .. but realy Bro .. do it right or forget it ..
its not a magic trick .. you dont just build a magic box and put a lot of stuff in ther and wait for smoke to come out the other end ..

its plants for crist sake .. and you are trying to grow em inside .. not natural .. need to try to make it as close as possible .. sun .. rain .. wind .. soil with food for them aso.

if you dont get close to that you will get small spinkly plants who never will adult and wont give much/any smoke ..
