Trying a mercury vapor bulb for uvb!!!

I just ordered this bulb in the link to try it, it was reccomended to me by someone who has used it with amazing results, im into my third week or flowering i hope its not too latre to start but we will have to see, im going to use it for 4 hours in mid cycle to mimic the suns powerfull rays between 11ish to 3 o clock, if anyone has any input or anything please share!!!

I'd be carefull with a bulb like that, speically one that produces that amount of UVB.

UVB light can cause direct DNA damage. The radiation excites DNA molecules in skin cells, causing aberrant covalent bonds to form between adjacent cytosine bases, producing a dimer. When DNA polymerase comes along to replicate this strand of DNA, it reads the dimer as "AA" and not the original "CC". This causes the DNA replication mechanism to add a "TT" on the growing strand. This is a mutation, which can result in cancerous growths and is known as a "classical C-T mutation". The mutations that are caused by the direct DNA damage carry a UV signature mutation that is commonly seen in skin cancers. The mutagenicity of UV radiation can be easily hole. UVB observed in connection is one reason for concern about ozone depletion and the ozone causes some damage to collagen but at a very much slower rate than UVA.

lol....im not going to be around when its on, its gonna go on by itself in the middle of the cycle and im going to make sure im not there, id be safe than wouldnt i.....it is a fact that thc also produces thc so why not get some killer buds to take off, a buddy did it and said it was like 10 grades higher and it was already a killer smoke, i smoked it and like 2 puffs and i was gone, he did half and half with the light and the ones with uvb were dank and full of like amber thc and the fan leavce were basically filled to the tips with thc in comparison to the ones without that barely had thc not even half way down the leaves, its worht a try i think , i let you know what happens when its time!!!

Sunlight is perfect for growing. Reproducing indoors, what nature provides outdoors will increase the quality of your bud.

I just grow outside. No, high dollar lights, boxes, hydro gear or nutes. Composted soil, chicken shit, cow manure & bat guano with water from a stream. No one can take more than two puffs of my bud without getting totally goofy. The key is good gentics & what nature provides.

Grow outdoors and save big bucks.

well not everyone can grow outside bro, and unless your in some tropical place you wont get even close to as much uvb as i will be getting with this...

I guess that guy does not understand that Plants have DNA also. Go ahead and mega-nuke those plants Elton John. & throw in some dead chemicals and nuclear waste why your at it. Chernobyl is looking to get rid of some - Cheap !!!

i totaly agree with growing with compost thats all i use composted soil, pig shit,grass clippings,eggshells,seaweed(i actually go to the beach and get a trashbag full for my compost) i never use chemical fertilizers not that i would'nt just hav'nt had the need to yet. as for indoor lights i grew outside for years and recently started back indoors for the fact of harvesting every 2-3 weeks perpetual harvest is something you cant do outside
