Trying a few strains

All are from feminized seeds.
Right: Barneys Farm Laughing Buddha

Front center: Crop Kings Durban Poison

The oldest is the Laughing Buddha which popped from the dirt Aug 22. Strange looking girl there. Looks like a bit of a freak and is the fussy one of the bunch. Critical Kush popped a few days later but seems much stronger and happier. Started under aerogarden lights for the first week and a half then under 1000W HPS at half strength but left them on the floor of the tent....so about 65 inches from the light. Just turned it up to 75% a couple days ago. Transplanted the 2 a few days ago from solo cups and the roots were obviously better developed on the Critical Kush. Would hate to give up on the Laughing Buddha but might have to try one of the other 4 seeds I have. Roots were only about half as developed on the buddha and its the oldest! The Girl scout cookies is about a week behind but seems to be picking up steam now and the Durban poison is prob a week and a half old now. Have some vivosun 5 and 10 gallon smart pots arriving tomorrow. Hoping to transplant some of these into the 5 gallon pots next week depending on development. Just raised the plants up on a chair tonight so they are about 40 inches from the light now.

When you transplant do you add mycchorizae?

I have a bottle of superthrive and I put one drop in a liter of water for one watering early on for these plants but didnt add any at transplant? Maybe I should give a bunch to the Buddha?

I'm not familiar with Superthrive.

Picked up some promix HP mycorrhizae.
Is it any good? Should i mix with my regular super soil?

Its good but after each grow u need to add lime for the ph because off the peatmoss

Yes you can mix with soil. Suggest adding a generous amount of perlite. Worry about adding too little if you're wondering how much to use. Always improve your drainage . Avoid vermiculite .

Grabbed some perlite today and was gonna grab some more super soil while I was out but it was all gone so I went to a local organic soil place and got a couple bags of soil that is composted with leaves and chicken manure. Is it safe to use some of this mixed in with my regular soil and promix HP for an indoor grow? I would hope its safe to handle if they are selling it.

Been almost a week since the critcal kush and laughing buddha were transplanted to the little dollar store air pots and the buddha is starting to show some nicer new growth and shes filling in a bit. Her roots have really taken off in this air pot. Here's a pic of them today just before transplant to her 5 gallon fabric pot.

The critical kush still looks better overall above ground but her roots don't seem to have grown quite as quickly as the buddha this time around


I made a mixture of pretty much half promix hp mycorrizhae and regular super soil but added %25 perlite to the soil portion and then added about 10% overall of the chicken manure compost (i left this manure compost in the sun for a bit and man it was steaming hot so disn't want to use too much)
Hope this turns out to be a good mix. I guess we will see next week!

Fall is upon us and temps outside should start cooling a bit but my grow tent is at just over 32C (90F) at 75% power on the 1000w HPS. I have a 6 inch extractor drawing air out near the light and every window high and low open to improve airflow. I dont really like seeing temps quite that high. I have kept them a few degrees below that until now. Waiting on a 6 inch cool tube to install on the extractor and should have that by early next week. Maybe I should drop the power to 50% again until it arrives.

Well the laughing buddha and critical Kush are pretty much a month old today. They seem to be taking well to the 5 gallon pots. They are about 10-11" high now and have really filled out the pots in the past week. I will probably flip to 12/12 tomorrow. Dont want them getting too tall for the tent. Heres the critical kush

Another week down and growth continuing nicely. Installed the cool tube over the 1000w hps last weekend. Daytime temps dropped from 29-30c to 24-25 most of the week but climbing again as high as 29 today (45% RH) Humidity seems a big factor here. Maintaining above 50%RH seems much easier to keep temps in the 24-25c range where I want them. Just turned on the 4 gallon cool mist humidier in the tent maybe 30 min ago and humidity is up to 55% already and dropped to 27C.
Flipped the Laughing buddha and critical kush to 12/12 6 days ago. Started the lst shortly before flip and just tied the tops down a few days ago. Girl scout cookies and durban poison have been in the 5 gallon pots for a week now. Put the GSC in the flowering tent a couple nights ago when it was 12inch from dirt) and it has stretched 3 inches in those 2 days so I tied her down a bit hoping she put that energy into filling out instead of continuing the stretch. Last week all plants seemed to be showing a bit of calcium deficiency if I read the leaves right so decided it was time to give some nutes. Used DNF grow A & B @5ml/gallon for the last couple of feedings (about 5 days apart)

The girls are all pretty happy and starting to bulk up the flowers.
