Trouble cloning

Can I put a clone directly in the flowering process without letting the clone take root. Meaning can I just Pick a nice size branch cut it, put it in to the gel and put it in to soil, directly in to the flowering room? someone please help me , I dont know if I should let my clones take root and then put them in to flowering or just put them straight in to flowering and let nature take its course. I will have about 10 clones.

So you think the best thing I can do is let them veg for like 2 weeks and then put them to flower? another thing is I dont have any rockwool so I will be putting my clones straight in dirt after I apply the rooting gel. Is that ok? Will the clones root as fast?

There is another post on yield here in the newbe section. Basiclly 1/2 to 1 OZ per plant. It depends on if you have females. Common sense would say if you got 1/2 those clones to be female then you can get 2.5 oz to 5 oz. Remember something, the cloning is really only to get sex and then have a mother plant. Once you have a mother that you know is female, you can cut a shitload of clones from it. If you cut 5 clones from 1 mother you would end up with 5 plants you can pull bud from. If you had two plants that were females and you cut 5 clones from each, then you would have 10 plants and so on. But I could not clone to crazy. I'm sure cutting off to many clones can damage a plant.

Thanks thats good to know. I have 1 mother plant that I been vegging for about 3 1/2 close to 4 months now. She is about 4 feet tall and has about 12+ great branches for cloning. Will I kill her if I cut all the clonable branches at once? Thanks for the help.

I dont think you would kill it if the plant is that tall. But I'll let a seasoned pro answer that 100%. But that big, I don't think so. It's not much differant then if those branches were bad. The plant should recover with no real problems. When I say only cut a few, it's cause some people might not use common sense and end up cutting up so much of their plant they would kill it. Just cause it's a POT plant the concept of cloneingis no differant then any other plant. Sowing seeds, seedlings, cloning, fruiting etc. All pretty much the same thing, just each plants has it's own little quirks that you need to learn and look out for. Some people say Marijuana is really a harty plant, some say no. I think it's like anything else. The better you treat it, the better it will treat you. Plant it in a back yard and leave it alone at the right time of year. You may get a pot plant from doing nothing. But will it make you HI. Prob. But prob not as good as a plant that you cared for. Also I'm sure with a 1st grow, the first hi will be mainly from smoking weed you grew yourself lol. If that makes sense.

Thanks alot man you really been helpful. Im expecting my cloning gel Tomorrow so I will be cutting probably about 10 clones. Im going to cut them take any leaves that might make it hevier off, put the stem it in the cloning gel and straight to soil. with one clone I am going to put a airstone in a gallon of water attached to tubing and a pump. Then im going to top it and make a hole in the red lid big enough to put the stem of the clone in to. Im going to put the stem in the gel and then place it in the bubbling water. Do you think this will make my clone root faster than just putting it straight in to soil? thanks again.:joint:

i use 1 inch rockwool cubes and small propagator for my cuttings.

first i take them from the plant then dip them in clonex then place them incubes that are wet (not soaked) then in the propagator they go.. i use a 24 inch flourescent strip light that you can buy from BnQ or any diy shop. i have it sitting on top of the propagator with a home made reflector which is card wrapped in foil bent into the shape of a normal refector.. i mist the cuttings twice a day with water and usually within 2 wks i have clones with good roots.. it can take longer than that to root sumtimes so be patient. after i see roots i remove the lid n let them take in there own water coz until they have roots they cant.

once they root i veg them in grow room with 24hr of light for 3-4 wks depending on size but i usually let them grow till there roughly 12-16 inch remembering that they can double in size or more..

hope this helps m8..

Thanks man, but I dont have rockwool or heating pads. Im just going to try putting the clone in the gel and directly in soil. Oh another question I have is, I have a hydro setup I made from a with a 5 gallon bucket wit a lid, I( cut a round hole in the lid added a netted pot and filled it up with marbles. my plant already sprouted. With the root just touching the bubbling water. now my question is how do I feed it the nutes? on my nutes it says you should add a tablespoon to every gallon of water. now do I add 5 tablespoons because its a 5 gallon bucket? or should I only put a tablespoon in to the bucket? and how often do I add nutes? Oh and do I change water when Im ready to feed nutes again or just throw it in the same water?

try and find info on DWC (deep water culture), that's what the 5 gal bucket technique your using is called. I just grew 2 plants with that same method. The nutes should be added directly to the res, but I doubt you are using 5 gals in a 5 gal bucket, I only used 3 gals all through flowering, so only add nutes per gallon of water. To make it easier on you when you have t change the nutrient solution (once a week), I'd recommend you get an extra bucket. This way, you fill the extra bucket with the new nute solution, pop the top/net pot off the old bucket, and put it on the new one. Another thing not sure if you said you had an airstone in that res, if not, get one. PM me if you got any questions and ill try and help
