Trimming flowering leaves

got 2 questions.1 is it bad for a flowering plant to trim the leaf tips off so it would put a little more energy into the roots had an accident and a bunch of my root clumps got busted off i have been on 12/12 for about 2-3 weeks and she just showed her sex like last week.2 can i take my flowering plant off the 12/12 and put it back on 18/6to clone the little bugger and let it grow up a little more, i've heard it could change the plants sex by doing this

I certainly can't offer an expert opinion so certainly don't take this as the gospel truth. but I would think if you have been 3 weeks into flower then you are better off continuing on. I know stress can cause plants to go hermaphroditic... I wouldn't so much worry about the current plant as I would worry that the clones you took from it could be hermaphrodite. As for changing sex, I don't think it could make it male, but could go herme on ya. Even if some roots busted I would just do my best to continue on through flowering.
