Tree Grow

Early Stages 1st week 1st Attempt

I had a AK 48 cutting which I planted outdoors in a loads of nettles and long grass, it appears to have rooted straight away :) I then decided to move the plant pot to a safe location, I noticed leaf damage which was caused by the slugs and spiders so I gathered it was a NO NO!!

I resulted in the idea of hanging the plant pot from a tree, similar to the hanging baskets, this should eliminate the pests from the ground and with it been higher I thought it should be more hidden from the public.

As the plant is still in the early stages the surrounding of the plant pot has been covered with a plastic bottle, this will resolve the midgets and greenflies problems and also make it concentrate on the roots in the early stage.

I also came up with a idea of a wheel attached to one of the branches < Pulling system > so when I want to look or feed her I can pull the rope to lift her or lower her.(Saves climbing the tree every time)

I have attached some photos of her and the place where she is and what I have used for the pulling system.

I will update her every week with my weekly updates and pictures.

Any thoughts/Ideas ???

i had considered doing same thing with a pulley to make raising it and lowering
no u wont have to worry bout deer but i would worry bout squirrels

Day 2 tree grow

These are the pictures of her today she looked dry but as you can see still green and growing new shoots I think she loves her new home.

Ha pretty interesting man. Nice thinking. Gotta say have never seen anything like that before. Im in as well ill be seeing how it goes. Are you planing on leaving it like that through out the whole cycle or just for a while? Good luck.

For the full cycle I decided to put it up there to save the ground bugs and I was leaving tracks to the place where she was before. The only thing I'm worried of is her getting root bound in the pot.
I'm thinking of making like a tent over the top of it so its sealed from the birds and green flies if anyone has any ideas it would be much be appreciated.

just need keep eye on weather so if high windstorms might bang it up
but with your setup u can beforehand lower it to ground till passes

This is the first time i have actually seen this done, looks pretty good to me, watch out for the stoner birds though.

Thanks for the views and replies I have been down today to feed her and there is bloody tracks to her now I tried making a wall of Trees by sawing them I did so many then snap the end of saw just bloody perfect. The end product just looks like a bloody pyramid of trees.

Would it be possible to some how make a door with some trees attached to it so it will look like a Illusion?

Any Ideas would be great thank you

I will add some more pictures of her tomorrow when I go to see her.

I went to see her the other day and I noticed more tracks to her so I took some more pictures of her and I was still thinking how to block it off from the public.

The day after it was throwing it down so I thought that would be perfect for her so I traveled in the rain to go see her, She had vanished they left the roller and took the chains and string.

I hope they set the themselves on fire the next time they have a cig (the bastards) there was a lot of thought and effort gone in to that it was amazing idea I think it was too obvious to the public and dog walkers.

I think the next time I attempt to grow out doors will be in the garden but even then there's some nosy fookers about her.

Thanks for the views and replies feel free to check my flowering AK48 in my thread.

Peace.

I had a similar idea many years ago, but never did it because it would be too visible, however if I were to do it today I would buy a plastic false wasp nest to wrap round the pot, although I think your pulley and rope might have been a giveaway.

Sorry to hear you were ripped off; it happened to me once, my friend and I had about twenty plants in his garden which we spent all year growing.

It’s never a nice feeling because you do all that work and someone just takes it; my plants went missing the day before we were going to chop them, so I think it was someone we knew that took them.

Well at least you tried it out, good effort indeed.
