Transplanting into a new soil

Hello all,

For the past four weeks, I've been growing from germinated seeds in a pretty bad soil just from my garden, and at the same time my plants have outgrown their starter cups... So I figured, I have to put in some care for these plants, and so it's time for a transplant/ soil change.

I was planning on switching my plants into fox farm ocean forest, or roots soil(still haven't decided) when I do my transplant. Is this a good idea?... Or would there be a huge shock?...

Also, reading around the forums, I have read that in the case of using Fox Farms Ocean Forest, nutrient should be added around the 3rd week. But, because my plants are already 4 weeks old, would I still wait 3 weeks before adding nutrients, or less than that assuming the bigger a plant gets the faster it uses up nutrients?

Thanks!

add some perlite to your FF with some worm castings or bat guano..

still give them a week to adjust before feeding them, just water along the edges to promote outward root growth..
