Transplanting coco coir pots

So I started my seedlings in some 3pm coir pots. I was wondering how to go about transplanting these. Can you just bury them in some soil? Can the roots just grow through them? They seen pretty compacts I don't know how the roots would go through. Perhaps it would be easier for the roots to penetrate if the coir was kept wet but that would require over watering.

So, are these coir pots intended to be transplanted with the pot still in tact?
