transplanting aero clones

I have tried transplanting healthy clones to dwc using hydroton & they get algae everytime. I put them in dirt and they take a month to recover. What is the problem? I wait til they have a good set of healthy roos established and gently transplant, what could be going wrong?

I may have that problem if I can ever get my clones to root. I have the Clonw Machine 25 and all my clones dried up on top. Do I need a dome over the top?

no, you should not need a cover or humidity dome, next time try using spring water. I had a very hard time figure out what was causing mine not to root. just by switching the water and not using tap water did it for me

I respectfully disagree with not using a dome. Clones need to be covered and sprayed with water until the roots develop.

a humidity dome is helpfull on certain types of cloning, it is not needed for areo cloners. It actually slows the rooting process. Want water, grow roots.

yeah, no dome on hydro cloners. I do like a dome for rock wool cloning and a heat mat underneath. As far as the original problem, how many roots are you getting before you transplant? I let them go at least a week after showing roots, sometimes 3 weeks so they have a ton of roots and then i put them in a keg cup of dirt and the roots seem to get out to bottom of the cup in a week and start growing more vegetation about a week after transplanting.

You want the plant to survive ? Needs water/moisture on the leafs so they don't dry up/starve .Mist the leafs often if you are not going to use a dome.
