transplant shock

man, i'm really feeling like a noob now

i transplanted my 3 week old babies from 4" pots to 1 gallon pots last night, i read that some of the more experienced have some transplant shock... what are some of the signs of this and do i need to do anything special to make them bounce back if/when they do act funny from re-potting, nothing wrong with the soil or nutes (havent added any yet) it's just that when i tipped the pot upside down the whole root system came out in one big chunk (i'm guessing this is good)

i'm surprised in the root system they have developed, nearly the whole chunk of soil that i pull out was all white roots, almost like the roots had no place to go and just kept wrapping around until they eventually ran out of room

they still seem to droop before the lights go off almost like they are falling asleep and will perk up after the lights come back on and wake up

any suggestions or is this "sleeping" normal? i do have some burn marks on the leaves where they sagged down one night and touched the sides of the clay pot where all the salts where being pulled from the soil

any advice? thanks guys

shock can be handled with superthrive, a stress reliever and root builder. the droop you're seeing seems more like a heat droop.... do your temps get high just before lights off"?

i dont think so, my grow space is heated and cooled, i recently moved the plants closer to the lights... think that is whats causing this? i know im only using cfls but there are 14 of them! the leaves may be getting too much light?

not too much light, but too much heat; 80f can make some strains wilt....

hang a thermometer the same distance from the lights as your buds, and check the temp before lights turn off. that will tell you what the plants are getting, as ambient temps can lie when you're using cfl's in a cab...

wilting after transplanting is normal.
you might even get some yellow leaves depending on how you transpalnted
but no worries
they will perk back up in a few day
i let my smaller plants dry out before i transplant there roots go searching for water and multiply. So all you have to do is pull gently on the stem and the whole plants dirt and all comes out of the pot. Makes for easy transplanting :)
