Transplant gone wrong

I built this DIY aeroponic system and it worked a little too well. I had 4 plants in it and all their roots grew together in one big mass :-( The plants are too big for the tent and need to be moved to flower room so I did the unthinkable. I hacked off the massive pile of roots and transplanted them to their new home.

So I need to know should I leave them to veg some more and give them time to recover or should I switch them to 12/12 and see how it goes.

Also I need something that can veg plants to about 2 ft tall (4 - 5 weeks) and also not get the roots all mixed with other plants. They need to be able to be moved to 6in netpots for flower.

Anyone got any advice?

There is a thread on here (use the Search feature) about bonsai plants where you trim off a huge portion of the rootball, and cut off nearly every branch. Unless you have a deadline for the bud you don't have anything to worry about; they should recover fine.

Yeah I am not too sure about hacking up the top half of the plant as well. Maybe some foliar feeding till the roots make a comback?
