Trainwreck, Purple Bubba Kush, Blue Widow--Ebb and Gro 1600 watt + CO2 Medi Grow

:leaf:
Hello everyone, here is my medical grow op. I have been perfecting my hydroponic skills for the past couple years and I finally have something worth making a grow journal out of. I'm currently cultivating 10 Trainwreck, 4 Blue Widow, and a clone of Purple Bubba Kush (purple pheno of course :bigjoint:). All the ladies have been topped twice..I'm running 2 600's and 1 400 using the Ebb and Gro system. For CO2 supplementation I use a bottle with a Sentinel regulator. As far as nutrients go, I run the full Advanced Nutrients line and a few other products. I will be getting pics of week 1 flowering early next week so I will update as soon as possible. I hope you all enjoy the grow. Your comments/questions are welcome. Some info on the grow:

Here is some info on the flowering room setup:

Room Dimensions

15'x14' (actual growing area is approx. 6'x15')
Lined with mylar

Hydroponic System/PPM Meter/Medium

C.A.P. 50 gal. Ebb and Gro 12 pot system with 6 pot expansion
Nutradip Tri-Meter (PPM, P.H., Water Temp.)
Hydroton for medium
Dual air stones in the 50 gal. also

Lighting

Sentinel MDT-1 Mater Lighting Controller
2 600 watt Galaxy ballasts
1 400 watt Harvest Pro ballast
3 Yield Master II air-sealed reflectors
Eye Hortilux bulbs all around

Ventilation/Odor Control

Intake: Dual 6" axial fans on digital timer
Exhaust/Air Cleaner: Can-Fan 75 filter w/ 8" H.O. fan (controlled by a fan speed controller because it only has to run about half speed to be effective) it ties into the lighting exhaust and is also on a digital timer
Lighting Exhaust: 6" Vortex on fan speed controller (pulls cold air from an adjacent bedroom over lights and dumps it under the house) this fan runs during the lights on period only

I run an oscillating fan and a box fan 24 hours a day for constant air movement above and below the canopy

CO2 Supplementation

100 lb. tank
Sentinel regulator
Plugs into recycling device on Sentinel MDT-1 timer

Here are some pics from the last run. They are about 3 weeks from harvest in these pics. The strains were: Super Cannalope, F.O.G., Southern Lights, and Cole Train. If anyone is considering growing these varieties I may be able to give you some helpful insight.

Pic 1: Southern Lights (Sensi Star x Soma's N.Y.C.D.) This is the diesel phenotype in this pic...insanely greasy and resinous...
Pic 2: F.O.G. a.k.a. Fruit of the Gods (NL5 Haze x Skunk #1) this is the purple phenotype and it's a huge yielder...

Pic 3: All four strains...

Sorry for the low quality pics, I plan on getting a digital camera for this next harvest. Let me know what you guys think...

Well it's earlier than expected but I managed to make it out to the room and take some pics of these girls flowering. The temps and humidity have been great, considering it is pretty much a closed room setup for half of the lights on period (I run CO2 for the first 30 minutes of every hour, and then run the can-fan and intake fan for the last 30 minutes of every hour). The temp. is around 84-85 degrees and humidity is about 50% when the CO2 is on. When the CO2 supplementation turns off and the can-fan and intake fan turn on the temp. drops down about 7-8 degrees and humidity drops by 10%. During the lights off period, when the can-fan and intake fan are on, the room sits around 68 degrees with a humidity of 50%. The ppm is 700, water temp. is 68 degrees, and PH is 5.8.

Pic 2: Trainwreck...
Pic 3: Purple Bubba Kush is the one right in front...

Any advise out there on any of these strains? or any thoughts? Happy smoking...:bigjoint:

I would personally use an ebb and flow bucket system for sativas since you would have the freedom to move them around. That's a lot of light for that many indicas. For indica dominant strains you could pack 16 into a 4x4 ebb and flow tray per 1000W's and have killer yield. I must say that your nutrient lineup is extremely impressive.

I have done ebb and flow tables before but I simply didn't get big enough plants. I put them in 4"x4"x4" rockwool cubes and had 2 600 watts over a 4x4 table. Like I said, this is the first time I have run indica dom. plants whatsoever, and I don't plan on doing so again in this system. I still have that 4x4 table lying around so maybe i'll purchase a 1000 watt and get some going under there. I'm running about 4,000 lumens per sq. ft. right now. I feel that the 400 watt I am runnning needs to be replaced with a 600 watt so my lumens per sq. ft. would be more around 5,000....when you say that's a lot of light for indicas, are you saying that indicas require less lumens?+rep 5ourdiesel

Sweet grow.
Do you have any up close pix of your Bubba and Blue Widow?
I'm growing out both.
I got a couple threads going on them.
They're in my sig
Feel free to post pix of 'em in them.
Keep it green man.

Dude, impressive setup, very professional, anyone can see your 100% committed. I really enjoy seeing journal's like this. Peace!

Also, I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some information about the potency and yield of the Trainwreck and the Bubba. I read controversial reviews on Trainwreck. Is it really as strong as they say? Thanks!

Hey thanks for the positive feedback stescugeorge. This is my first time growing Trainwreck so I cannot give you 100% accurate feedback on yield or potency yet...however I can tell you that the cut of Bubba I am growing is some of the strongest bud I've ever smoked and it's a headstash favorite for this reason and for flavor (I obtained the clone from a friend of mine who grows it organically in soil). The Bubba is an average yielder, approx. 100 gr. per plant. I can say that the Trainwreck are nice and chunky and it seems they're going to yield nicely...they are extremely greasy and resinous too so I think potency should be in the 20% range. I feel a lot of the negative feedback we hear about strains such as Trainwreck comes from inexperienced growers who are quick to blame genetics for their sub-par results. I hope you enjoy the grow...happy smoking...:bigjoint:

Well the girls are looking good and I have some updated flowering pics for you guys to enjoy. There are 4 phenotypes of the Trainwreck, 2 phenotypes of the Blue Widow, and 1 purple phenotype of the Bubba Kush...all of them are looking regal. I figured I would spare everyone the burden of flipping through numerous pages just to get to the good stuff so I'm only posting pics from week 7 on. The ppm is 850, P.H. is 5.6, and the water temp is 70 degrees. Air temp is 78 degrees and humidity is 45%. Here's what they look like after 7 weeks...

Anybody see Trainwreck like this before? I think I have some purple phenotypes...the room temps are never below 70 degrees F so I know it can't be because of that. Please give me your input...
