Toxic hydro hut

Cant remember my old user name, so this is my 1st post for the 2nd time =)

I quit growing a couple years ago because no matter what I did... Plants kept dying. Well I recently learned that the Hydro Huts were made from toxic material. Unfortunately I quit growing before I learned of this.


I thought I should post my email to them.. Im curious what type of response I will get from them. I seemed to have missed the recall :-/ But I paid good money for the hut. And I didnt give them TOXIC money that disappears. I paid with REAL money. I feel they should still replace it.

Am I in the wrong? What do you suggest I do? Anyone else in my same situation with them?

After 2 years of experiencing nothing but difficulty maintaining pristine plants I began to drive myself crazy trying to figure out why my plants would yellow and die halfway through growth.

I had grown for 3 years prior to this and had nothing but thriving, beautiful plants...thought a hydro hut would be a nice upgrade.

I changed nutrients countless times, changed PH solutions, bought a tds meter, ditched equipment, ditched Scrog (thinking it was stressing plants), and basically tried everything. Same thing every grow...yellowing from bottom up til the leaves dried and fell off like clockwork. I eventually quit growing all together. Boxed everything up, and went on with my life. Recently I decided to start up again. I just now came across a Hydro Hut thread in a message board and learned about the toxic huts, and the recall and I'm FLABBERGASTED, angered, astonished, blown away...

I IMMEDIATLY scoured your website, and read that the recall is over? I obviously do not still have my reciept. Sorry I missed the recall info, but I didnt catch info about it on the evening news, nor did I ever think my problem would be the tent that I paid top dollar for years ago. (4x8 hydro hut deluxe)

What can I do at this point?

They will probably try to sell you the new and improved Hydro Hut. Letter looks good. Good luck

Thanks I81. A man named Joseph from Hydro Huts was asking me a few questions. Where did I buy it, and to describe it, etc. I answered his questions, but I have yet to get any type of response if I am eligible for a rebate.

One guy I sure would love to talk with, is the guy from the hydro store preaching to me how good and safe these things were. LOL.. Id sure love to put my size 12 shoe up his ass! lol

yeah i went through that... they thought it was the poles at first, so the sent me new poles... then they decided it was actually the tent cover itself that was toxic to plants so they sent me a brand new version that was even nicer! they were cool about it so just tell them nicely that you cant get anything to grow in it and are pretty bummed and dont have the money to buy a new one... they may be cool and hook you up with a new one too...
