O.K. please be patient with me. If there is a good way to chat one on one with helpful people-please, lets start there. I have 2 GE Bright stick's and a closet full of foil. This is my first plant. (before it started going) I had done NO research. now- the thing is almost 2 ft tall and i figured "run with it." now I'm serious about getting a room goin' I have plenty of room for a small grow room. I also have the cash for materials to build. I'm goin' to be ordering seeds and want my shit figured out before I begin. I know i will need more lights and ventilation (stinks like crazy already.) if you guys don't want to reply directly, please point me to a place that I can get info without bothering you! I've been laid off for 8 months and know that I won't be called back till May or June and would like to acuire another hobby. any info would be great. like I said, please be gentle with me. =)

I do recommend you do a lot of reading. I did and was (am) still clueless....

I'd think the first place to start would be with a light. How big is your area?

welcome aboard. use the dull side of tinfoil, as it's more reflective. what are details of your grow? soil? nutes? have you been checkin ph of water your using?

i would get ride of the foil just paint it the inside of your area white or get a grow tent, the tent will help with smell alot, set up a carbon filter and a fan

Welcome fellow pot head, get rid of the tin foil, it gets hot spots on it is what i have read up on it. Anyway do like the one dude said and just paint it white, i surrounded mine with styrofoam, which you can get at home depot for about 5 bucks for a 4x8 sheet, really cheap and keeps a nice insulate on the plants

Get a ton of cfls and i also like to mix in a few grow lamps with them. If you wanna order seeds go through Nirvana, i highly recommend them. Good luck man

OK. so I'm guessing these GE Grow 'n' Show lights are no good? since putting the plant in the closet with them I've gotten 3 inches of new growth in just a few days. K, foil is gone gone already and my new room will be ready by tomorrow. thinkin that my lack of knowledge may have doomed the plant already but will continue regardless for research's sake. I have read a ton on this site on what lights to get and such, but there is a ton of lingo I'm clueless to. Abbreviations and such. my room is framed out to 3w by 3d by 7 tall. i Know that is plenty big enough and i will have my lights on on chains. got a 6" fan in and a 6" fan out on the bottom and a filter suggested on a another thread. do I need them directly on the plants? damn, like I said-I've got a ton of readin in on this and other sites but can't quite find direct answers.

It's not that they are no good, just probably not enough. How many watts are they? I started this plant outside and just recently brought it inside. I have a few bug holes in it but I'm not to worried cause the plant looks quite healthy. now, being about 6 weeks in, should I try and top it off or because of the lack of height restrictions, let it grow on? I just recently trimmed it up (following some nice videos on youtube). I won't be able to post pix for a few days-BUT, it is close to 2 foot tall and has about 40 to 45 leafy sprouts on it. might not help much but like I said, havin someone to chat directly with would be nice. chat on here seems shitty. are there any other sites with decent chat rooms?
