Why can't you register with this forum with a tor-friendly e-mail. Is RIU anti anonymity ?

Could you recommend an email provider which the forum accepts?
No I cannot sorry , I don't know which tors work and which do not I only know the xenforo software but it isn't my personal Job to spend my own money buying and downloading vpns and tors to see which works and which doesn't, I personally do not use a Tor or Vpn ..
However that being said if you go dig around the search in support many users can talked about which ones they use just make sure the date is 2015 and higher because we changed software and what worked with vbulletin may not with xenforo

Ok thank you, maybe politics was the wrong subforum, but maybe you can see why it "grinds my gears". Politics (from Greek: πολιτικός politikos, definition "of, for, or relating to citizens") is the process of making decisions applying to all members of each group. More narrowly, it refers to achieving and exercising positions of governance — organized control over a human community. However, as you explain it is not a RIU aim, so I was wrong and apologise.
I understand the complications of maintaining a site without a coding background, but it would make all the difference to people in non legal states and countries to be able to create anonymous accounts
If anyone can recommend a way of registering, (without creating an email which requires a phone number(wtf???) would be greatly appreciated)

But this is a support related question you wanted help with which is why I moved it
it hope that's understandable because if someone else has a same question they can find it via search
Lots of people here use anonymous accounts and have vpns and tors so they certainly work you just have to find one that does work I just don't have a list
There's no way to join here without an email and I've yet to see any forum that doesn't require and email to join that's mostly how forums work
I've not had to use a phone number ever to create a new email it's an option but not required
If you feel Riu is not safe enough we certainly apologize and would be sad to see you go but it is absolutely your choice to leave the forum
If you want to know how to disable email alerts i can help. Or you can try to switch your email to a fake one that isn't existing to trick the system but if you ever loose your password we can't recover your account
