Topping

im sure it varies from strain to strain but i was wondering ... after topping... about how much growth should i expect from the fan leaves that are now my 2 new main cola's before they act like cola's and not fan leaves? ive read that some extra length is normal due to it adjusting to being a cola but these suckers are a good 1.5 inches long (keep in mind my plant is 6 in tall) in stem before they get to the leaf itself and i see no signs of it acting differently :(

Umm, What topping technique are you using? I've never heard of one in which the fan leaves became main colas. If your talking about fimming, you won't see the results on the new growth you clipped itself. What you will see is that the nodes below it suddenly put out a new set of branches (not fan leaves) that will eventually create their own main cola once you flip the lights to 12/12. If your talking about standard topping, it still works about the same way-you will have two new branches produced off the main stalk, both of which will act like a main cola during flowering.
