ok so i have a plant thats oooo id say about 8-9in its got nice leafs goin my question is when and how exactly do i top my friends say i have to do it but i dont know any help advice pics throw them at me thanks

too bad u have only one plant, coz if u had 2 u could top one and leave the other one be and u could see later what u like better...i top at 5-7 internode and am a 'topping' follower at the moment..i think that the yield is better with a topped plant, although many different factors are also involved..

Once my plants have 6 nodes, I clip the plant just above that 6th node. After three weeks or so, it has branched out to two stems from the original cut. Once the two new stems have two nodes, I clip both of them again above their second nodes. The results, as pictured below are four nice fat colas. I then LST those colas horizontally, using tent pegs and string, allowing the lower 'popcorn' buds to develop. This works very well for me on outside grows, and indoors, i do the same W/O lst'ing...

Here's another example of a different strain that was 'topped' three times, as it's growth was faster and ahead of my other plants. First photo is in May, the second photo was June. I had to bring her under indoor lights for two weeks as she was so long in finishing...Hope this has helped answer your question...B
