Topping or fimming?

FIM if you can you will get more tops. more tops more bud. I personally have no luck with FIMMIMG ive tried it and ended up with 2 tops just like topping

They are kind of the same thing, sort of.

The first time I tried to FIM I just ended up with leaves that grew out with no tips. I would recommend topping if you are doing it for the first time.

I plan on trying the "MainLine" technique next go around.

Cheers guys. I've watched and read a lot about both but still don't really get it. Am I cutting the stem where a new growth just starts to grow?

i recently started my first grow and decided to top my plant i got two tops one which has outgrow the other check my thread out on the newbie forum let me know what you think

The whole point of topping is to force the plant to have more than one "top". If you leave it be it will have one main cola. If you top it once you will have two. If you top those you will have four.

Mainlining is just taking that to the next level. 16 or even 32 tops.

If I were you I would try topping a couple of times, you will end up with a bushier shorter plant. If you look closely at the node you will
see the where the leaves attach to the main stem you will be able to see the little nubs that will become the new growth
