topping a plant?

hello everyone here, im new to growing marijuana. i just started my first plant and topped it at the 4th node, its been in veg for 19 days. i just need alittle help, i wanna know if i did it too early.
 
You did good, small but okay. Did you clone the top? Keep vegging it, solid light until 6 to 10 inches you pick. Everyone does this different. I vegged my last ones longer, didn't top it and got taller plants. Topping it will produce a shorter bushier plant.
 
thanks for the help, i did'nt clone the top. right now im just trying to grow one plant, to see how everything goes. its outdoor's, do i have to worry about the 12/12 lighting, or does it do it on its own because its outside?
 
No mother nature will take of her for ya.
When we grow inside we are faking nature and messing with it (ie: forcing flowering, tricking the plant etc.)

thanks Chiceh for the info, and thats a nice plant cincis. so it should start flowering in nov-oct? when the light period changes?
 
thats been asked a million times an ive seen mixed answers. so im tryin for myself it shuld increase yeild your gettin 2 main colas instead of 1 but i guess its realy strain related
 
They say good light gets wasted if plants do not get topped when growing indoors and that it helps focus the light on all the plant and gives u a few chola instead of the light focusing on just the 1 main chola
I think it increases your yeild and every 1 i know that does this says the same
I prefair to do lst to my plants somthing the same
 
ill be puttin a pic up so you guyz can give me some info on my plant, its growing pretty good its at 24 days.
 
hi ,
i have topped the crop im doing now and i have had great results,
i have left 2 to do there thing but the ones i topped before flower look like they have more budd sites and all nodes are close together.
the topped plants look like the shape of marge simpsons hair, i have also fimmed the branches b4 flowering and now have 20 budd sites at the top of my plants,
i will post pics later today.
