topping a Indica dominate?

my first grow,1 white berry. Im using FFOF and its under a 400w mh. With this strain being indica dominate it's pretty bushy but i want to max my yeild b/c its only one plant.would topping or fiming help? also not to be a PITA and I have searched but is there a link explaining molasses use and when to do so?

I would recommed researching LST (low stress training)

i have but too late, im already over two weeks in and my stem is too thick.thanks though

no its not, bend it slowly and gently over time if its too thick(which i bet it isnt). if anything its too early for lst cuz it doesnt have alot of nodes yet(probally).

fim your plant then lst the new main growth points is what i would do

Thats a good idea, its about 5 inches tall and the stem is about 1/4" thick, so if I slowly start lsting it should be ok?i am hesitant as it is my first grow. as far as lsting the new growth would that bring the rest of the plant down as well?I feel there are mixed opions on lst as far as yeild, do u feel it will def increase yeild?

I just topped a very Indica dominant bagseed yesterday, aiming to get 4 colas. Read up on Uncle Ben's Topping Guide; excellent information. I'm using a 400W MH/HPS setup as well. I'll let ya know how it turns out once I start seeing new growth.

its no contest imo, especially if u only have one plant. make yourself a even canopy of buds and it will better utilize the light, basically it insures every top is exposed to light and is the same distance away so you dont get any popcorn buds and buds that are stretched reaching for the light cuz they are more shaded cuz the top cola or other budsites are blocking it. fim-lst-scrog are best used together, this is from a post of mine in another thread but i think it describes it fairly well so heres the post

you should fim/or top/ or prune it for yield as soon as you can and use lst on the new tops. what i like to do is use both fimming/topping, lst, and scrog but if i only could use 1(or if flowering of course) i'd use lst, my previous post seemed like i was saying topping and fimming are always bad, which i did not intend it to. i fim a few times and tie the new tops down w/lst if im gonna do a scrog. in truth these methods work the best together. topping/fimming then lst the new growth points then just keep pushing them them under the screen till you have your screen filled and are ready to flower. best of luck"
