i only top after i have figured the nutes out and it has 4 or more nodes. i use water until i see the leaves look like they need attention then slowly add nutes.

i dont know much about kush strains other than the smoke. i happened to get this seed out of a qp.

Any plant responds the same topping the same as far as i know. They bush out and grow 2 more branches(and some unneeded stress and about 3-5 days behind their average growth),but thats a helluva lot more branches to deal with though. If its a mother plant you could but if your going for yield try to LST it.

hard time finding a plant that will actually REACT negatively to Topping/LST/even supercropping. Plants will amaze you on their survival ability, in the WILD its normal to have BROKEN,Cut,Eaten,Rotted branches. It will Bounce Back. I think yield will increase if you TOP/FIM/SC/LST simply because of light exposure.. BUT YOU MUST give the plant the EXTRA time to VEG so it can preform to your standards. but IMO. get 1 strain try 5 diff Training methods on 5x diff seeds.. the best 2x that work.. USE for that strain.

true. but some plants like blueberry and my white widows like topping. the one i only top once only have 2 sometimes three tops. the ones i top twice i get four or more tops the same size as the other ones usually bigger.

FIM for the WIN !!! i think their all FIM! Fk, I Missed. when topping my plant i only expected 2 tops, I now have 3.

its got 5 nodes now... And is still lookin good without nutes, but it will soon be in need! still contemplating topping or not... i grew 2 HK before and it reacted very well to LSTing but not to well with topping this was in a big box wher i had numerous plants and due to the fact the HKs wher smaller bushier plants they wher struggling for light as it was over crowded, its just the one this time tho and its in a nice tight space! if i decide to top i will probably end up putting a scrog in ther...
Im surprised your blueberry liked topping, i had 1 outside this summer jus gone, i topped it and lost a great deal of bud potential although the 'shitty/pukey smell' was incredible! and the purple colour of the bud was amazing.. i'd never seen anything like it before, it was almost as if the trichs had turned purple!

BRILLIANT! i had a huge tree in my garden, was a bagseed came our hermie in doors so i put it out.. ended up being a giant! i topped tht nd LST'd it wher i topped it, it also grew
a third cola straight up the middle

wow, thats shitty luck your blueberry didnt like topping, it might have been a pheno that didnt respond well. i had gotten mine by trading a ww clone for a blueberry. the research i did told me if i didnt top it i would lose weight as they dont have huge colas, but will all be the same size when you top. some articles i read wanted me to create 6 or more tops. i only got the one clone and wished i had vegged her out to make a mom, just didnt have room.

currently growing a few hk's and 50% of those are topped/lst/fim one of witch i broke by mistake of over bending. the plant has sense bounced back and is very short with a heavy thick stalk. i then decided to try something new and topped each of the two that formed from the break. sense the hormones redirected i have two new cloned starting at the base and 4 main stems on top. with proper training all six should be ready for flowering here in no time. will be starting a thread on that soon. so another words yes hk's respond very well to topping.
