Top your auto

Like Tek said its best to not top auto's it can set you back a week or more or even stunt them.

once you crack the seed the timer starts and its going to flower with what ever veg it has on it.

some can be topped ok but most will be set back a week.

i was wondering if you top you auto flower or just let it grow? If so in what week?
I think you should fim or pinch them rather than topping as its less stressful. Ive got 9 auto's on the go & intend to fim all the one's that are growing well, the slower one's I might just leave or might fim them as well & see what happens. Will do at after 3 nodes.

I always thought topping was cutting off the stem bewteen nodes while Fimming is pinching the top growth which is less stressful. Are you sure they're the same?

The two options are topping/fimming, but they both work on the same principle. You are cutting off the top growth, causing the axillary buds/growth on the nodes underneat the cut to flush out and become as dominant as the original top was, due to a hormone change in the pl

When you fim, you are just doing the topping at a location where there are two nodes very close to each other, so the four growth buds can all grow at relatively similar speeds, and have similar heights.

Cheers for the info buddy, i understand its the same principle but would u say fimming is less stressful than topping?

No problem, man. I think it's definitely possible that fim'ing might be less stressful than normal topping, since you are removing less living tissue from the plant. That's pure speculation though.

Btw, I edited my previous post to say "topping/fimming" instead of "pinching/fimming". Both topping and fimming are forms of pinching if you use your fingers to pinch the piece off.

really as long as you top before it changes itself into flowering you should be fine, toping during flowering can result in loosing a node, just follow your gut
